Five verses. One clear path through the story of grace.
Romans 3:23
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Nobody skips this first mile marker — not the person next to you, not the pastor, not you. The road starts on level ground: everyone's in the same spot, no exceptions.
Romans 6:23
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
A wage is what you've earned. A gift is what you can't. This verse puts both on the table at the same time — the road forks here, but only one side costs you anything.
Romans 5:8
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
This is the trail marker that changes everything: the rescue didn't wait for you to clean up first. It happened while you were still lost.
Romans 10:9–10
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Two things, not fifty. Not a checklist, not a performance — a mouth that says it and a heart that means it.
Romans 10:13
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
The last mile marker has the widest gate on the whole road. Whosoever. Not almost anyone — anyone.
