Mentor ("we," "our," or "us") is a faith-based discipleship platform built for churches, camps, and schools. We are committed to protecting your personal information and being transparent about what we collect and why. This policy explains our data practices in plain language.
We built Mentor to serve communities of faith. We do not sell your data, show you ads, or use your spiritual content to train AI models.
We collect only what is necessary to provide the Mentor service.
We use your information solely to operate and improve Mentor.
These commitments are foundational to how we operate.
Your data is stored on servers in the United States. We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed password storage, and access controls that limit who on our team can access production data.
Profile images and uploaded files are stored on Cloudflare R2 with private access controls. We do not make your uploaded files publicly accessible by default.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We take reasonable precautions but cannot guarantee absolute security.
You have the following rights regarding your personal data.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at help@mentordiscipleship.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Mentor Discipleship operates this service. Questions about a child’s information go to help@mentordiscipleship.com.
Someone under 13 cannot open a Mentor account on their own. If a signup says the person is under 13, we do not save the account. We email only the parent or guardian address that was entered. That email explains what we would collect, how we use it, and who else can see it. The parent signs the consent form, then confirms a second email. The account is created only after both steps. We store that the account is for someone under 13. We do not store the exact age typed on the signup form.
After consent, the account can include the child’s name, a username, a password, and an email the parent provides. If they use Mentor, we also store what they add, such as notes, Bible study progress, and messages inside a church, camp, or school they join. People in that community can see the child’s name and what the child posts there. DigitalOcean hosts the database, Cloudflare stores uploaded files, Resend delivers email, and Vercel hosts the app. Those companies process the information so Mentor can run. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Kids check-in stores a child’s name, date of birth, optional allergies or medical notes, photo, and check-in times only after a parent or guardian signs the consent form on that screen. If they leave an email, we send a link to review or delete the record. Mentor Kids stores a child’s profile only after the parent signs and confirms the email we send.
A parent can refuse. If they do nothing, the consent request expires and we delete it. After information is stored, the parent can review it and delete it from the link in the consent email, or by emailing help@mentordiscipleship.com. An existing account whose age is under 13 cannot be used until a parent completes this consent.
Churches, camps, and schools that create accounts or child records for minors still have to follow the law that applies to them. Mentor’s own collection follows the steps above.
We use a limited number of trusted third-party services to operate Mentor. Each is bound by their own privacy policies.
We do not integrate with advertising networks, social media trackers, or data brokers.
We may update this policy as our service evolves. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice in the app at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of Mentor after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
